Meet the Team

  • Kelly Espenschade, LIMHP, RPT

    Owner of Impressions Therapy

My name is Kelly Espenschade and I started Impressions Therapy because my passion has always been helping to support children, adolescents, and families. Whether they have experienced life stressors, suffer from mental illness, witnessed or experienced trauma, or need a safe place to express and understand their feelings, I strive to help them heal, learn, grow, and feel supported.

I have been in the mental health field, providing counseling and conducting research for the past 12 years. I use a variety of therapies to help individuals and their families, such as Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and approaches from other types. I have experience counseling individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, and impulse control/anger management. I am particularly passionate about play therapy and how to meet the needs of children and adolescents by using their natural means of responding to the environment.

I am a licensed independent mental health practitioner (LIMHP). Additionally, I have obtained certification as a Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT™).

  • Erin Owens, LCSW, LMHP

    Contractor with Impressions Therapy

Hi there! I'm Erin, and my focus is in working with children, teens, and adults through life's ups and downs. My background includes working in the school setting as a social worker and therapist, with individuals hospitalized due to mental health challenges, and within our child welfare system. Over time, I've honed my skills in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, trauma, and various life transitions and difficulties.

My approach is based on the strengths of each individual. I work to understand the impacts of the biological, psychological, and social factors in shaping individuals' unique experiences and challenges. I believe in the power of belonging, growth, creativity, and recognizing the inherent strength within oneself for healing. I also value the importance of finding joy and humor amidst life challenges and recognizing them as essential pieces in the healing process.

In our sessions, you can expect a safe and compassionate space where we'll work collaboratively to explore your experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience through understanding how your mind and body is connected. My ultimate goal is to empower you/your child to navigate life's transitions with confidence and emerge stronger on the other side.
